Our Story

If you’re here you’re probably like us and you’re trying to find a few great wineries to visit this weekend. Maybe you’re planning a birthday party? Bachelorette? Anniversary or an outing with friends and family? Well unlike us you found Unwind Vines and before Unwind Vines there wasn’t a singular place you could go to learn all things wine related. The best part, we’re all here for the experience.  

Unwind Vines was created because there was a need to bring all of the wineries and tasting rooms of the Sierra Foothills and the Sacramento Valley together.  You will find we bring a lot of focus on wineries within a 90-minute drive of Sacramento. 

Warning – This is not your Napa or Sonoma experience, and that’s exactly what we love about it. The wineries, events, and activities we’ll share at Unwind Vines are those of the hidden gems and calming atmospheres that gave us our name.  

I will be featuring wineries in the Sierra Foothills and Sacramento Valley regions, with a particular focus on wineries that are within a 90-minute drive of Sacramento. These wineries are often less well-known than those in Napa and Sonoma, but they are no less deserving of attention. These family-owned and operated wineries are producing high-quality wines that are unique to the area. Many of these wineries are boutique and they offer a more intimate, personal, and approachable experience for visitors. By and large, they are also less expensive and don’t leave you feeling “hungover” at having spent hundreds of dollars on tastings. These wineries are underappreciated gems, and I’m excited to share their stories and wines with my readers.”
