Rancho Victoria Vineyard: A Blend of History, Beauty, and Award-Winning Wines
Nestled in the heart of Amador County, Rancho Victoria Vineyard is a gem that offers a unique blend of history, beauty, and award-winning wines. The vineyard’s story began in 1854 when George and Margarete Greilich, saloon owners from Drytown, decided to move their family to a peaceful cattle ranch. They purchased an initial 400 acres of Victoria Valley and homesteaded the rest. Over the years, the ranch evolved into a 120-acre vineyard that is now the focal point of the property. Today, the vineyard is owned by Jack and Victoria Sweigart, and managed by their son John.
A Tasting Experience Like No Other
Rancho Victoria Vineyard offers a unique wine tasting experience that honors the estate’s rich history. The tasting room, known as the “Scale House,” is a blend of rustic warmth and country elegance. Visitors can sip and unwind at the spectacular tasting room bar or relax outside on the exquisite stone-laced patios. The tasting room boasts one of the most striking views in the Amador Wine Country, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind with a glass of wine.
The vineyard offers reservation times starting at 11 am with the last reservation/seating at 4 pm. Tasting fees are $15 per person, which are refunded with the purchase of two bottles. Club members receive complimentary tastings. Reservations can be made online, by email, or by phone.

They also offer a 2019 Montepulciano and a 2018 GSM Red Blend ‘Black Label’ for those looking for something a bit more unique.
